From the Grape to the ‚Giant‘
In the sun-kissed vineyards of the Vienna Woods, along the southern edge of Vienna, our grapes thrive in the warm, nutrient-rich soils of the renowned Thermenregion Wienerwald. Handcrafted in the cellars of Fuchs Winery, located along the historic Southern Railway line, these grapes become the essence of our finely distilled brandy.
The Giant – Wiener Gigant
Wiener Gigant is a carefully matured brandy from Fuchs Winery – a distillate born from meticulously selected wines and refined through years of aging in oak barrels. Blending younger and older vintages, it develops a full-bodied, velvety character that delivers an exceptional and enduring tasting experience.
The Story of Wiener Gigant – Austrian Premium Brandy
The Southern Railway, connecting Vienna directly to the Austrian Mediterranean port of Trieste from July 1857, opened up entirely new trade and travel opportunities for the aristocracy, diplomacy, and connoisseurs. Exotic goods and delicacies such as cigars, rum, and rare spices made their way to Central Europe – a symbol of newfound prosperity and a luxurious lifestyle.
Inspired by this tradition of refined taste, the story of Wiener Gigant began in 2010 at Fuchs Winery. Special 100- and 300-liter oak casks are filled with carefully selected vintage wines and gently matured. For Wiener Gigant, aged vintages (at least 5 years in oak) are blended with younger wines, then elegantly bottled in custom-designed, stylish bottles.
The result is a meticulously aged Austrian brandy with a full-bodied, velvety character – a premium indulgence for connoisseurs and lovers of fine spirits.
Supreme Enjoyment & Character
After careful aging in oak barrels, the distillates are diluted to drinking strength and perfected using the winery’s proprietary blending technique. This process gives the finished spirit its signature smooth character and ensures the ultimate tasting experience.
